Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has backed Liverpool to sign Leeds United’s Rafinha, a better fit for West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
The Reds are looking for a new midfielder. The people who have been linked continuously are Rafinha and Bowen, but in Robinson’s view, the star of the “Leeds United” team is more suitable for Liverpool’s attacking game.
“Rafinha is a better choice for Liverpool, he’s that guy, he fits the front three,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“Bowen will improve their defensive quality a little bit. But that doesn’t mean Rafinha is afraid to do so, I think Bowen would be better and better suited to West Ham’s system under David Moyes.
“Bowen has talent but Rafinha is one of the best players I’ve seen at Elland Road, players like Mane and Jota are top players. But I don’t think Rafinha is far away.
“Liverpool might have to spend a bit of money. This will be another very expensive player.”
