‘Dear Gule, after just one year it’s time to say goodbye. I’m here to take on a new and exciting challenge and I’m ready for it,’ Gundogan wrote.

‘I gave everything to fight for the team and the club to be the best in a difficult season and I am looking forward to helping my teammates in the new season.’

‘I am leaving the team in a difficult situation now. But if my departure can help the club financially, it makes me feel a little less sad.’
